Williams DEFENDER Original Arcade Cocktail Cabinet
A vintage and extremely rare Williams DEFENDER Cocktail Cabinet Arcade Machine. By far one of the best machines I own in the best and most complete condition. It is absolutely clean and works reliably. Clean means dust and gunk-free, internally and externally.
Even the monitor tube and PCB are spotless. All buttons work as they should. The single coin slot works as it should for modern 10p coins (steel 10p coins sometimes work, the'thickness' part of the slot may need adjusting) - the solenoid works to reject coins if set to free play or the machine is off. All bulbs in the coin door and control panels are lit and run at 5V rather than 12V, spare bulbs are included. The coin door and lid locks work properly and have two keys each.
The monitor is original to the machine and is a 120V model. There is an internal 240V to 120V isolation transformer. The original power supply has been replaced with an ATX unit, this has all the protection features to protect the main logic board from instant death if a fault develops, all too common with the original power supplies. I do not have the original.
It sits on four HDPE-based adjustable feet, is secure and does not wobble. Of course there ae some flaws - there are some sratches to the glass from use, and the original coin box is missing - a replacement arcade tub is temporarily fixed to the metal base and works well for home use. The current mains lead can be changed easily for an IEC socket, the internal ceramic power connector block has simple L-E-N inputs. This machine can easily be converted to run on 120V without any extra components if exported - the monitor is 120V and the ATX supply can be switched. Collection and cash/bank transfer on collection is essential.
